How long should you stay?
The shortest stay that genuinely changes a pattern is seven nights. The honest answer for most chronic conditions is ten to fourteen. The intake call confirms the right length for your specific case.
- 3 nights An introduction Useful for first-time visitors who want a sense of the place, the food, and the team. Genuine clinical change does not arrive in three nights, and the physician will say so at intake.
- 5 to 7 nights A reset Right for restoration after a long stretch of stress, a heavy work cycle, a season of bad sleep. Most guests feel meaningfully different on day five and visibly so by day seven.
- 10 to 14 nights The clinical sweet spot The honest range for most chronic conditions. Time for the cleanse phase, the build phase, and the integration phase. Most published Panchakarma protocols sit inside this window for a reason.
- 21 nights A deeper rebuild Reserved for guests with stacked goals, pain plus stress, weight plus diabetes, post-cancer rebuild. Often paced as a sequenced two-programme stay under one physician.
Stays of seven nights or more include a complimentary airport transfer from Jolly Grant (Dehradun) or Indira Gandhi International (Delhi).
Getting here is simpler than you think
Haridwar is one of the most accessible spiritual towns in India, four hours from Delhi by train and a comfortable drive from the Himalayan foothills. The notes below cover what most international guests ask before they fly.
Visa
India offers an e-Visa for most nationalities, applied for online and approved within 72 hours. Apply for the standard Tourist e-Visa. We can share supporting paperwork on request, although it is rarely asked for at the embassy.
Flights
Fly into Indira Gandhi International (Delhi) for the widest schedule. Jolly Grant Dehradun is the nearest domestic airport, a one-hour drive from us. Most international guests fly Delhi, then drive five hours or take a four-hour train.
Airport Transfer
Complimentary on stays of seven nights or more, from either airport. A non-talkative, careful driver, a comfortable sedan or SUV, drinking water, a clean towel. Driver waits with a name placard; no rush at the gate.
Currency
We accept bank transfer in INR, USD, EUR, GBP at the prevailing rate, plus all major cards and Razorpay. Cash on arrival is also accepted, although unnecessary. ATMs are widely available in Haridwar town, fifteen minutes from the campus.
Season and Weather
October through March is the gentlest season: clear days, cold nights, no monsoon. April and May are warm. July to September is the monsoon, beautiful but humid. We host year-round, and your physician will adjust the protocol to the season.
Vaccinations
India does not require any specific vaccination for entry from most countries. We recommend you check the latest WHO travel guidance for India and consult your home physician. We are happy to share an arrival note for your home GP on request.
A short note on what to bring
Bring less. The retreat is simple, the dress is modest, and the laundry is daily. The list below is what most international guests find genuinely useful, and what they later wished they had left at home.
Bring
- Loose cotton or linen, comfortable for therapy and yoga
- One warm layer for evenings, October to March
- A modest swimsuit or fitted shorts for hydrotherapy
- Walking shoes for the gardens and morning walks
- Any prescription medication you currently take, in its labelled packaging
- A favourite book, a journal, a pen you actually like
- Your home doctor’s contact, in case our physician needs to call
Leave at home
- Anything fancy. The dining hall has no dress code beyond clean and modest
- Hair dryers, irons, kettles. We supply what you will use
- Snacks or supplements. Our pharmacy and kitchen cover both
- Stiff workout gear. The yoga we teach is gentle, the floor is matted
- Heavy makeup. The Abhyanga oils make most of it impractical anyway
- A packed schedule. The Dincharya rhythm is the schedule. Let it carry you
Tell us what you have in mind
A short message is enough. A team member responds within twenty-four hours, usually within four, and offers to schedule the physician’s intake call.
Plan your stay, answered honestly
-
What is the deposit and cancellation policy?
A twenty-five percent deposit confirms your dates. Full refund of the deposit for cancellations more than thirty days before arrival. Fifty percent refund within fifteen to thirty days. No refund inside fifteen days, although we routinely roll the deposit forward to a future stay within twelve months. Medical emergencies are handled case by case with full goodwill.
-
Can I pay in USD, EUR, or GBP?
Yes. We accept bank transfer in INR, USD, EUR, and GBP at the prevailing rate. Card and Razorpay also work for international guests. Full balance settles on arrival in any of the accepted currencies, although we recommend pre-paying by transfer to avoid the arrival-day admin.
-
Do I need travel insurance?
Strongly recommended for any international travel into India. Choose a policy that covers medical evacuation, even though our campus has on-call physicians and an ambulance. The retreat does not include third-party insurance coverage. Ask your provider for a single-trip policy if you do not already hold annual cover.
-
Can I extend my stay once I am there?
Subject to room availability, yes, and a fair number of guests do. The physician will tell you frankly whether the extension would genuinely add clinical value or simply add days. Extensions are billed at the same day-rate as the original booking, no surcharge.
-
What happens if I need to change dates?
Free to change once, up to seven days before arrival, subject to room availability in the new window. A second change incurs a small re-blocking fee, only because therapy slots need to be rebuilt. Most guests change once and never need to change twice.
-
Will someone reply on a weekend?
Yes. Our intake desk runs seven days a week, although response on Sundays may take six to twelve hours rather than four. WhatsApp is the fastest channel out of hours. The physicians schedule their intake calls Monday through Saturday, mornings and evenings, with the time zone of the caller.
Begin with a conversation
Forty-five minutes with one of our physicians, complimentary, unhurried, in your time zone. By the end of the call you will have a clear recommendation, a stay length, and the choice of whether to proceed. No deposit, no obligation, no upsell.
